FAQ

  • What do you make?

Almost anything made of wood that you can think of! There are businesses that operate with repeat projects and cater to only a certain creation, we choose not to. Let your imagination for your project be yours, and let us tell you whether or not your build / idea is going to be feasible for us to create. Every wood project that we have not done before is an opportunity for us to expand our knowledge and better our craftsmanship, so give us that chance!

  • Ok but really, What do you make?

In addition to our first FAQ, we actually do have two types of projects that we currently exclude from our portfolio. They are firearms components, and instruments. Both require a level of temperance and attention (not to mention special tooling) that is not something were interested in. Outside of those two, no project is too large or too small, renovations, refurbishing, reclaimed, new stock, etc. You name it, just ask!

  • How do you do what you do?

When we attend vendor shows and local markets, we often use our traditional hand tool demonstrations to illustrate the kind of craftsman we strive to be. Hand planing, back saws, chisels, are some of the primary tools we use. Our focus is predominately old school hand tools, but that doesn’t mean our shop isn’t equipped with all the modern electric tooling to get the job done quickly and precisely. Hand tools are quiet, precise, and also a reason our business exists, the love for traditional analogue craftsmanship is what got us here.

  • What does my project cost for you to make?

When discussing the pricing for your next build, things like wood species, type of wood joinery, installation, fabrication, and other parameters come in to play. We provide consultations for projects at a virtual, or in person level. What we discuss with our clients is usually that there are several ways to achieve there desired custom work, its all in their hands to tell us what that is worth to them.

  • Where does the wood come from?

Adding to our previous question, all of our wood is sourced locally. By that we mean local mills, whether that’s a mom and pop shop, or a large saw mill. To be brief we rarely if ever shop at the big box retail stores for our lumber. Our goal is to support our community with beautiful custom work catered to their tastes, and that means also supporting the local vendors as well. We try and by all wood from either Colorado, or a state near our own.

  • What services do you provide other than fabrication?

In order to expand our knowledge of carpentry and home renovation, we offer installation and delivery as a function of our business. This allows us to create something special for you and your family, get it to you safely, and set it in your space for you too! This allows us to serve you from start to finish with no middle man in between.

  • What areas of Colorado do you service?

Our primary business is most areas south of Denver. That being said, we do not exclude any areas within the entire state! Of course deliver and installation will come with its fees, but we are willing to go the extra mile(s) for our customers! Just ASK us!

  • How do you come up with prices?

The first thing to do for most projects is discuss your build plan, come up with a rough board foot estimation, pick your species / coloration, and then shop locally for your materials. Our “down payments” for projects are the full amount of initial materials paid up front, and then your invoice is added to / itemized from there. This allows us to initiate a build, but should the need arise, a cancellation can be done while the lumber is retained by us. Please feel free to ask about this section!

  • How do I request a consultation?

Please visit our contact section of our home page! There you can fill out a form, and your inquiry goes directly to our email inbox! Consults are first come first served, so try and make your dates in advance of when you need service provided!
